Time for Murtha to man up and apologize!

leave a comment »

I live in the great state of Pennsylvania, and the one thing that is bugging me is that I can’t cast a vote for William Russell.  I can and have supported him many other ways, and with the grace of God all we can do is pray that the constituents of the 12th PA District are so fed up with their current disgraceful congressman that they vote for Russell this coming Nov.4th.

Only God and the brave men who stood trial after Murtha made such smearing and non-factual comments, know what they must have been going through.  I’m glad to see that since they have been found innocent, they are going after the man who has not even apologized for his comments even after he has been proven wrong.

Listen to what Murtha says:

Murtha sued over remarks

BY MIKE FAHER

The Tribune-Democrat

In May 2006, six months after 24 people were killed in a small Iraqi town, U.S. Rep. John Murtha made a startling accusation.

American soldiers, he contended, had killed innocent civilians “in cold blood.”

Now, less than six weeks before the longtime Johnstown Democrat is up for re-election, a Marine involved in the now-infamous Haditha incident is suing Murtha for slander.

Justin Sharratt of Canonsburg, Washington County, left the Marine Corps last year. But he claims Murtha’s statements have caused “permanent, irreversible damage to his reputation.”

“What Murtha did is outrageous, and I am seeking punitive damages,” said Noah Geary, a Pittsburgh attorney representing Sharratt.

The lawsuit was filed Thursday in federal court in Pittsburgh.

It includes Murtha’s statements from nationally televised interviews in 2006, including an exchange during a CNN interview with anchor Wolf Blitzer.

“There was an (improvised explosive device) attack, it killed one Marine, and then they overreacted and killed a number of civilians without anybody firing at them,” Murtha told Blitzer.

“That’s what you’re going to find out.”

At this point, though, seven of the eight servicemen charged in the incident have been cleared.

Geary said Sharratt was charged with three counts of unpremeditated murder but later was exonerated.

Sharratt, 24, was honorably discharged from the Marines, Geary said.

The lawsuit claims Murtha violated Sharratt’s constitutional rights to presumption of innocence and due process of law.

While Geary acknowledged that the congressman never mentioned his client by name, he said media reports did identify Sharratt. And the effects have been long-lasting, the attorney said.

“People see that on TV,” Geary said. “It becomes truth – it becomes a fact.”

He added that “Justin has had people approach him, giving him a hard time” in reference to Haditha.

And the suit says Sharratt has lost “significant employment opportunities” and “significant associational opportunities.”

Murtha, through a spokesman, offered no comment Thursday.

But when a different Haditha Marine filed a lawsuit against him in 2006, Murtha said he simply wanted to focus attention on troops who were “caught in the middle of a tragic dilemma” in war-torn Iraq.

“When I spoke up about Haditha, my intention was to draw attention to the horrendous pressure put on our troops in Iraq and to the cover-up of the incident,” Murtha said at the time.

The 2006 lawsuit is ongoing.

It was filed by Frank D. Wuterich, the only Marine not yet cleared in the Haditha incident.

Wuterich has pleaded not guilty to voluntary manslaughter charges, The Associated Press reported.

Haditha has become a political issue in western Pennsylvania.

Diana Irey, a Republican Washington County commissioner, often spoke of the Haditha Marines during her unsuccessful 2006 campaign against Murtha.

Republican William Russell, challenging Murtha this year, has resurrected the theme.

In fact, Russell’s campaign Web site features a “personal video message” from Justin Sharratt’s father, Darryl. And Russell’s only television ad has focused on Murtha’s Haditha comments.

Geary denied that Sharratt’s lawsuit is connected in any way to the Russell campaign.

Instead, he said, the legal action must be filed now because a statute of limitations for slander lawsuits is about to expire.

“There’s no political motivation whatsoever,” Geary said. “This is purely a legal endeavor.”

Nevertheless, Russell issued a statement on Sharratt’s lawsuit Thursday.

“I sincerely hope that Congressman Murtha will use this opportunity to admit his mistake and take responsibility for the harm his false accusations have done to Justin Sharratt and his family,” Russell said.

“Justin’s right to justice goes beyond politics.”

Murtha has 60 days to respond to the lawsuit.

Obama threatens to unleash more of his Goons!

with 8 comments

Wow how stupid and naive does the Obama camp think the American people are?  Did they honestly think they would be able to do such a thing and it not be exposed?  I think I remember the “Messiah”, telling a crowd that the republicans must think they were stupid.

I’m wondering what their response is now that they have been caught???  If they will even give a response, or maybe they will go ahead and try to say that the Sheriffs and Prosecutors acted on their own will and the campaign had nothing to do with it.

Missouri Sheriffs & Top Prosecutors Form Obama “Truth Squads” & Threaten Libel Charges Against Obama Critics

More Hope and Change for Missouri…
St. Louis and Missouri Democrat sheriffs and top prosecutors are planning to go after anyone who makes false statements against Obama during his campaign. This is so one sided I can’t even begin to describe how wrong this agenda is.

It’s one thing if they want to keep the campaign fair for both sides, but they clearly only want to enforce the issue for the Obama Camp.

KMOV has a video report on the Obama “Truth Squads”.

St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce and St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch are threatening to bring libel charges against those who speak out falsely against Barack Obama.

KMOV aired a story last night, that stated that St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch and St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, both Obama supporters, are threatening to bring criminal libel charges against anyone who levels what turns out to be false criticisms of their chosen candidate for President.

St. Louis C of CC Blog has more on the Obama Truth Squads.

Barack Obama Attacked White People!

From his audio-book dreams of my father, Barack Obama was moved to tears when he heard his racist anti-American pastor blame whitey for all of the world’s pain and ills.
In fact, he was so moved by this filth that he included the story in his book Dreams of My Father.

Here Barack Obama lashes out at the white man’s greed:

Audio was taken from a Hugh Hewitt Show.
In Obama’s own words:

“It is this world, a world where cruise ships throw away more food in a day than most residents of Port-au-Prince see in a year, where white folks’ greed runs a world in need, apartheid in one hemisphere, apathy in another hemisphere… That’s the world! On which hope sits!”

E-Verify system is set to expire.

leave a comment »

Thank God for The Heritage Foundation and the alerts they disseminate!

I received an e-mail today which contained links and information on several topics, but the one that grabbed my attention was the link to this message from James Jay Carafano, Ph.D. “Time Is Ticking: Congress Must Re-Authorize E-Verify Now.” It is no surprise that I had no idea that E-Verify is set to expire, considering how dead set our congress seems to be on ignoring the will of its constituents!

Unless Congress steps in, on November 30, E-Verify is set to expire. E-Verify is a system that allows employers to verify electronically whether their newly hired employees are legally authorized to work in the United States. E-Verify should be re-authorized.

A Valuable Voluntary Program

Through E-Verify, participating employers can check the work eligibility status of new personnel they are hiring through an online service that compares information from an employee’s I-9 form against Social Security Administration (SSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) databases. This service is provided free to employers (though the individual companies must bear the cost of providing the infrastructure and people to enter the data). So far this year, E-Verify has processed over 4 million eligibility checks. The system has proven to be quite effective, and SSA and DHS continue to work to improve service, reliability, and privacy protections.

Could our members of the “do-nothing” congress (which would be a good thing if they would also refrain from doing the things that harm our nation… perhaps “do-nothing good” congress is more appropriate) be hoping November 30 will come and go quietly? Could many off them be hoping the attention to the presidential election will distract an already apathetic electorate? I would suggest that some of the open borders, flood the labor pool, amnesty for illegals liberals and RINO’s are indeed hoping this deadline passes unnoticed by the masses. Of course some of the career politicians may be too wrapped up in campaigns of their own or of fellow partisans to be bothered by the work of the people. Obviously no one expects my senators from Illinois, Barack “Born Alive, Let Them Die” Obama and the equally worthless Dick Durbin to to their jobs, but some of the rest of you might be able to get through to yours.

Remember that the next job that goes to an illegal alien might be the one you previously held. I urge you to call your senators and representatives! Make your voice heard (and hopefully your senators aren’t as ridiculously anti-America as mine.) Visit the following links to find the contact information for your members of our illustriously incompetent congress:

While you’re at it you might want to let them know that you aren’t fooled by Nancy Pelosi’s “compromise” energy bill that only allows off-shore drilling where the bulk of the oil ISN”T!

How we arrived at our current Economic situation!

leave a comment »

Folks if you are interested in how we truly got into our current economic situation, and if you would like to find out who helped get us in this position, then I suggest you take a look at this video.  It is a quick moving video but you will see the facts and get a better understanding.

Team DeMint: What Caused Our Economic Crisis?
By Rizzuto

Sat Sep 27, 2008 – This video was brought to my attention by a reader. If you don’t know who senator Jim DeMint, he’s probably one of the last great hopes for true economic conservatism in the US Senate, the standard bearer of government restraint. He’s got leadership written all over him, and should will definitely be a player in the future of the Republican party.

He put out this video recently which accurately traces and explains the financial crisis, and how we got into the situation we’re in right now. A perfect video to leave up for the weekend. Enjoy!

You Tube yanks Obama pro-abortion video

By Charlie Butts of OneNewsNow

A pro-life group is upset with YouTube for pulling a video focusing on Barack Obama’s extreme abortion views.

Operation Rescue’s Troy Newman worked in conjunction with Kansans Coalition for Life to develop the video entitled “Obama: WRONG Change for Children.”

He believes YouTube is making a political statement and endorsing Obama. ”There’s absolutely nothing untruthful; there’s nothing deceptive in this video. It tells the absolute truth,” Newman contends. “[Obama] wants you to accept every radical piece of abortion legislation that’s come down the pike in the past 35 years. This is out of step with mainstream America.”

YouTube sent Newman’s group a message saying the video did not meet a “Community Guideline,” but that guideline was not defined. To watch the censored video, visit Operation Rescue’s website.

After historic jump in Oil price, what comes next!

leave a comment »

Oil’s jump makes history, but true test is yet to come

By Myra P. Saefong, MarketWatch

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Crude-oil futures made history Monday with the biggest daily dollar gain ever seen on the New York Mercantile Exchange, but the true test for oil is yet to come.

The future of global oil demand is more uncertain than ever given the U.S. rescue plan for the financial market, and no one’s sure about the impact and recovery pace of production and refinery activity in the Gulf of Mexico following the recent hurricanes, analysts said.

On Monday, a steep drop in the U.S. dollar, assumptions that the government rescue plan will help improve the economy and boost oil demand as well as short-covering related to the expiration of the October crude contract on Nymex all combined to pull oil prices to their highest intraday level in two months. See Futures Movers.

Oil’s rally was “a mixture of short covering and the growing realization that the Fed [especially in an election year] is willing to be the ultimate backstop to the economy,” said Neal Ryan, a managing partner at Ryan Oil & Gas Partners.

“Throw in a worsening supply/demand dynamic on top of it and we’re off to the races,” he said.

It all just “underscores that energy is the only place to expect outsized profits these days and the money is flocking into that market,” he said.

U.S. stocks dropped Monday as traders digested the details of a $700 billion plan to rescue ailing financial firms. See Market Snapshot.

“Clearly the money out there needs a place to go, and oil is now a major safe haven,” said Michael Lynch, president of Strategic Energy & Economic Research (SEER).

Illogic

But some of what’s going on really doesn’t make any sense. A worrisome economy and financial market should translate into lower demand for oil, some analysts said.

“The oil market is caught up in the same hysteria of the rest of the financial markets,” said Anthony Sabino, a professor of law at St. John’s University, whose legal practice includes oil and gas law.

“We can and will get through this” as the markets did back during the Great Depression in the 1930s, he said. “So oil traders getting caught up in the general panic is just plain dumb.”

“If the economy is so bad and uncertain and panicky, [the] price per barrel should be deflating like crazy because demand is cratering,” Sabino said.

The same insane speculation that drove investors into “toxic investments” such as subprime lending and collateralized debt obligation has infected the oil market, “so for no good reason at all they are driving oil up to unsustainable prices,” he said.

It’s a “wholly illogical disconnect,” Sabino said. With the U.S. stock market down by so much and money tight, logic says oil demand will “continue to drop like a stone, so prices should be back at $90 and heading south to $80.”

Complications

Complicating matters on Monday was trader short covering related to the expiration of the October crude contracts on Nymex, analysts said.

“Some folks got caught short,” said James Williams, an economist at WTRG Economics. “The stocks at Cushing [Okla.], which is the delivery point for Nymex, will be low because they have been drawn down because of the hurricane.”

So “if you are short on the last day of trading you have to either buy back the contract or make physical delivery and it is probably difficult to get spot oil at Cushing to make physical delivery,” he explained.

Confidence in the commodities also climbed on the heels of the drop in U.S. stocks and as the dollar buckled against other major currencies. See Currencies Report.

“A weaker dollar on concern about the financial crisis and how Congress will handle it, as well as a flight to safety — or at least the perception of safety in a commodity that has increased for five years,” helped pull prices for oil higher Monday, said Williams.

Longer term, however, oil should see pressure from the weaker economy worldwide, he said. “Even China is trying to stimulate its economy.”

And don’t forget: The Gulf of Mexico’s still slowly recovering from Hurricane Gustav in August and Hurricane Ike in September.

About 76.6% of oil production and 65.5% of the natural-gas output in the Gulf are still shut in as of Monday, according to the U.S. Minerals Management Service.

The hurricanes and the energy facility shutdowns related to them didn’t appear to contribute much support to oil prices. Historical prices for crude on Nymex actually fell about 10% between Aug. 19 and Sept. 19.

Sure, oil seems to be a major safe haven now, but how the oil market reacts “when inventories go up as the effects of Gustav and Ike diminish will be the real test,” said SEER’s Lynch.

Obama and Ayer’s, more than just neighbors.

leave a comment »

Obama and Ayers Pushed Radicalism On Schools

Despite having authored two autobiographies, Barack Obama has never written about his most important executive experience. From 1995 to 1999, he led an education foundation called the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC), and remained on the board until 2001. The group poured more than $100 million into the hands of community organizers and radical education activists.

[Obama and Ayers] AP

Bill Ayers.

The CAC was the brainchild of Bill Ayers, a founder of the Weather Underground in the 1960s. Among other feats, Mr. Ayers and his cohorts bombed the Pentagon, and he has never expressed regret for his actions. Barack Obama’s first run for the Illinois State Senate was launched at a 1995 gathering at Mr. Ayers’s home.

The Obama campaign has struggled to downplay that association. Last April, Sen. Obama dismissed Mr. Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood,” and “not somebody who I exchange ideas with on a regular basis.” Yet documents in the CAC archives make clear that Mr. Ayers and Mr. Obama were partners in the CAC. Those archives are housed in the Richard J. Daley Library at the University of Illinois at Chicago and I’ve recently spent days looking through them.

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge was created ostensibly to improve Chicago’s public schools. The funding came from a national education initiative by Ambassador Walter Annenberg.  In early 1995, Mr. Obama was appointed the first chairman of the board, which handled fiscal matters.  Mr. Ayers co-chaired the foundation’s other key body, the “Collaborative,” which shaped education policy.

The CAC’s basic functioning has long been known, because its annual reports, evaluations and some board minutes were public. But the Daley archive contains additional board minutes, the Collaborative minutes, and documentation on the groups that CAC funded and rejected. The Daley archives show that Mr. Obama and Mr. Ayers worked as a team to advance the CAC agenda.

One unsettled question is how Mr. Obama, a former community organizer fresh out of law school, could vault to the top of a new foundation? In response to my questions, the Obama campaign issued a statement saying that Mr. Ayers had nothing to do with Obama’s “recruitment” to the board. The statement says Deborah Leff and Patricia Albjerg Graham (presidents of other foundations) recruited him. Yet the archives show that, along with Ms. Leff and Ms. Graham, Mr. Ayers was one of a working group of five who assembled the initial board in 1994. Mr. Ayers founded CAC and was its guiding spirit. No one would have been appointed the CAC chairman without his approval.

The CAC’s agenda flowed from Mr. Ayers’s educational philosophy, which called for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and which downplayed achievement tests in favor of activism. In the mid-1960s, Mr. Ayers taught at a radical alternative school, and served as a community organizer in Cleveland’s ghetto.

In works like “City Kids, City Teachers” and “Teaching the Personal and the Political,” Mr. Ayers wrote that teachers should be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to American racism and oppression. His preferred alternative? “I’m a radical, Leftist, small ‘c’ communist,” Mr. Ayers said in an interview in Ron Chepesiuk’s, “Sixties Radicals,” at about the same time Mr. Ayers was forming CAC.

CAC translated Mr. Ayers’s radicalism into practice. Instead of funding schools directly, it required schools to affiliate with “external partners,” which actually got the money. Proposals from groups focused on math/science achievement were turned down. Instead CAC disbursed money through various far-left community organizers, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (or Acorn).

Mr. Obama once conducted “leadership training” seminars with Acorn, and Acorn members also served as volunteers in Mr. Obama’s early campaigns. External partners like the South Shore African Village Collaborative and the Dual Language Exchange focused more on political consciousness, Afrocentricity and bilingualism than traditional education. CAC’s in-house evaluators comprehensively studied the effects of its grants on the test scores of Chicago public-school students. They found no evidence of educational improvement.

CAC also funded programs designed to promote “leadership” among parents. Ostensibly this was to enable parents to advocate on behalf of their children’s education. In practice, it meant funding Mr. Obama’s alma mater, the Developing Communities Project, to recruit parents to its overall political agenda. CAC records show that board member Arnold Weber was concerned that parents “organized” by community groups might be viewed by school principals “as a political threat.” Mr. Obama arranged meetings with the Collaborative to smooth out Mr. Weber’s objections.

The Daley documents show that Mr. Ayers sat as an ex-officio member of the board Mr. Obama chaired through CAC’s first year. He also served on the board’s governance committee with Mr. Obama, and worked with him to craft CAC bylaws. Mr. Ayers made presentations to board meetings chaired by Mr. Obama. Mr. Ayers spoke for the Collaborative before the board. Likewise, Mr. Obama periodically spoke for the board at meetings of the Collaborative.

The Obama campaign notes that Mr. Ayers attended only six board meetings, and stresses that the Collaborative lost its “operational role” at CAC after the first year. Yet the Collaborative was demoted to a strictly advisory role largely because of ethical concerns, since the projects of Collaborative members were receiving grants. CAC’s own evaluators noted that project accountability was hampered by the board’s reluctance to break away from grant decisions made in 1995. So even after Mr. Ayers’s formal sway declined, the board largely adhered to the grant program he had put in place.

Mr. Ayers’s defenders claim that he has redeemed himself with public-spirited education work. That claim is hard to swallow if you understand that he views his education work as an effort to stoke resistance to an oppressive American system. He likes to stress that he learned of his first teaching job while in jail for a draft-board sit-in. For Mr. Ayers, teaching and his 1960s radicalism are two sides of the same coin.

Mr. Ayers is the founder of the “small schools” movement (heavily funded by CAC), in which individual schools built around specific political themes push students to “confront issues of inequity, war, and violence.” He believes teacher education programs should serve as “sites of resistance” to an oppressive system. (His teacher-training programs were also CAC funded.) The point, says Mr. Ayers in his “Teaching Toward Freedom,” is to “teach against oppression,” against America’s history of evil and racism, thereby forcing social transformation.

The Obama campaign has cried foul when Bill Ayers comes up, claiming “guilt by association.” Yet the issue here isn’t guilt by association; it’s guilt by participation. As CAC chairman, Mr. Obama was lending moral and financial support to Mr. Ayers and his radical circle. That is a story even if Mr. Ayers had never planted a single bomb 40 years ago.

Mr. Kurtz is a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center.

Federal Court rules in favor of Religious Group, in Williamsburg, Va.

leave a comment »

Finally the courts get it right, rather than pandering and listing to the groups that want nothing to do with religion.  They decided with this decision at least, that the time is now to end the Politically Correct B.S.

Public School District Must Allow Religious Group Free Access, Court Says

Thursday, September 18, 2008
By Melanie Hunter-Omar

(CNSNews.com) – A federal court Thursday ruled in favor of a religious group that had to pay to hold Good News Clubs at public schools in Williamsburg, Va., while the district allowed groups like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to use the facilities for free.

The Child Evangelism Fellowship of Virginia (CEF) was unconstitutionally discriminated against by the Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools, the court ruled.

The school district was ordered to rewrite its policy and pay over $20,000 in damages.

Good News Clubs teach children respect, good citizenship, moral values and character development from a biblical perspective.

“Parents and children will benefit now that Good News Clubs will have equal access to the school district’s facilities. Good News Clubs are good news for kids. Every public school ought to have a Good News Club. The kids love them, parents appreciate them, and the First Amendment protects them,” Mathew Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel and dean of Liberty University School of Law, said in a statement.

The Liberty Counsel filed the lawsuit on behalf of CEF.

“Of all places, Good News Clubs should have been welcome in Williamsburg and James City, the birthplaces of American liberty. Now they are welcome. We told school officials their policy was unconstitutional. They didn’t listen, so we filed suit and they learned the hard way that the First Amendment forbids religious discrimination,” he added.

God has decided that he’ll make sure his great word is spread one way or another.  We must all keep praying that the man upstairs guides us in the correct direction.  There are and will continue to be major battles, that need to be fought.

I became a US citizen today!

leave a comment »

Ken Shepherd, managing editor of NewsBusters.org has a great article highlighting a Journalist’s journey to becoming an American Citizen.  It is a great piece and is an article that should encourage others to strive to become American citizens if they so desire.

I want to applaud and give congratulations to Hari Sreenivasan, a Dallas-based CBS reporter.  Hari, welcome to the family my friend.  I can’t even imagine the feelings you must have felt after taking the oath to become an American citizen.  You Hari Sreenivasan are yet another inspiration to the millions of other folks who would love to be an American Citizen.

Ken Shepherds’ article about Hari Sreenivasan:

NewsBusters’ primary mission is to expose and combat liberal media bias. That said, every now and then a journalist puts up a patriotic essay or news story that deserves a hearty round of applause.

Such is the case with Dallas-based CBS reporter Hari Sreenivasan, who shared his thoughts on the “Couric & Co.” blog after coming back from taking the oath to become an American citizen. Sreenivasan shared that it was in being a journalist that he saw the heart of America (emphasis mine):

The most I’ve learned about this country and what it means to be an American has been through this craft I’ve been fortunate enough to practice for a dozen years or so. For work, I’ve lived in Washington, North Carolina, California, New York, and now Texas. According to the map on my Facebook page, there are probably a half-dozen or so states that I have yet to visit. In the past year and a half or so for CBS, I’ve been hurled into one disaster aftermath after another, and though it might sound like a political cliché, that is really the easiest place to see the best of America. You don’t see it when politicians swoop in for a photo-opportunity; it happens quietly.

The American spirit is in the pastor I met near Damascus, Ark., who, when he saw a tornado, instead of hunkering down, rushed out to warn the construction workers building his church who he knew had no radio. They huddled together inside a cement cellar as the twister tore through in seconds what that community had taken so long to build. Like the entire town of Greensburg, Kansas, the community in Arkansas, will pick itself up, dust itself off and build again. It is in the optimism of the teachers throughout New Orleans who are putting their money where the rest of the country’s idealistic mouths are. They are on the front lines working brutally long days for relatively little pay, and often times are part of the only stability in the lives of so many children who have been failed by our education system.

While some of his reasons for becoming a citizen seem to me to hint at a liberal political outlook, Sreenivasan never explicitly laid out his political views, and it’s hard to not admire his conclusion:

One thing that I noticed in my fellow immigrants this morning, from the Albanian to the Zimbabwean, from the Kosovar to the Kenyan, was a sense of potential. Even though the act itself is no more than raising your right hand and making a pledge to a new country, there is the sense of hope that comes with turning over a new leaf. I’ve always believed that either you are part of the solution or you are a part of the problem. There are enough solutions to work on in America, and I’m willing, as they say during Texas Hold’em poker, to go all-in.

Well Hari God Bless, and keep up the great journalistic work, and of course go live the American Dream.

God Bless,

The ACLU uses yet another THREAT!!

leave a comment »

The ACLU strikes again, with their scare tactics.  What a pathetic group who claims to be for the Constitution.  I mean they could care less about preserving the innocence in our children today.  They would rather threaten a Library with a lawsuit, and make sure that Gays are not offended.

This story should not surprise anyone, because we have all seen how low the ACLU will go to get their way.  They have also used this case, as another way to get their voices heard.

From OneNewsNow.com :

ACLU threat returns ‘sex’ books to library shelves

A father in Nampa, Idaho, is back to square one after the local library caved to threats from the ACLU.

It took Randy Jackson two years to get the books “The Joy of Sex” and “The Joy of Gay Sex” removed from the Nampa library. The books came to his attention after the teenage son of a friend found one of the books lying on a table within reach of any child.

Since then the American Civil Liberties Union of Idaho has sent a threatening letter to the library demanding that the books be put back. The library caved to the demand, according to The Associated Press, as “a matter of fiscal responsibility,” noting that the library board heard from the city attorney that it could cost “hundreds of thousands of dollars” to fight a free-speech case.

Now Jackson and Bryan Fischer of the Idaho Values Alliance are determining the best course of action. “[T]hese two books are particularly objectionable,” says Fischer. “The Joy of Gay Sex contains very graphic, leave[s] nothing to the imagination [with] depictions of every variety of homosexual sex imaginable. It even has a chapter in it entitled ‘Daddy/Son Fantasies.'” Other chapter titles include “Exhibitionism and Voyeurism,” “Fisting,” “Sex with Animals,” and “Tearooms and Back Rooms.”

Fischer says the ACLU’s argument against removing the books is unfounded. “They argued that the policy violated the First Amendment’s freedom-of-speech provision,” he points out. “But this is clearly in error of the founding fathers. When they enacted the First Amendment [they] intended to protect political speech, not pornography.”

He also argues that the “bullying tactics” employed by the ACLU are typical of that group in its efforts to “trash community values” with threats of an expensive lawsuit. “It’s an abysmal state of affairs when a single letter from cultural thugs can undo two years of patient and pain-staking work…,” he laments.

Fischer and Jackson are currently exploring all legal options available to respond to the situation.

Well I’ll tell you what.  This is ridiculous and since the library can do what it wants, people should go find another library to go to.  Well that is if they care about keeping such disgusting books out of the view and hands of their children.  Yes it may mean you have to drive a bit farther, but at least you can make a statement to the library and help prolong your child’s innocence a little while longer.
