Swiss Legalize Heroin!

with 15 comments

The Swiss have voted over the weekend to legalize heroin. As a former heroin baby (my birth mother was an addict, and I doubt she stopped on account of little ol’ me.) I find the whole idea repulsive and inhumane. In the United States we have methadone clinics, these clinics are to help heroin addicts get off heroin. The clinics like the ones in Switzerland are to help addicts stay on. I don’t have a problem with methadone clinics because they truly provide treatment. It is about trying to help the addict reclaim their life. I do have a problem though with liberals saying, “Oh they are always going to be addicts so let’s not help them, let’s just give them what they want. It is easier for us that way.” This is the dangerousness of liberalism. It doesn’t solve problems, it just creates new ones. It doesn’t look for the cause and only offers band-aid solutions to all of life’s problems. Of course the liberals sing the praises of this program. Here is the article:

Swiss approve pioneering legal heroin program

In this article it talks about how the health of the addict has improved ( I know how about getting them off heroin altogether, that would really improve their health! We are not talking about medicine here people, we are talking about heroin!) Crime has dropped (yeah no stats are provided just crime has dropped. And not even which crimes if any have dropped.) And people are all so happy (yeah nothing like having a bunch of heroin addicts coming into your residential/business neighborhood at least a few times a day. They really spruce the place up!)

Here is an excerpt from one article that talks about one addicts experience:

Swiss vote on radical heroin rules

“My kids just know that Dad is sick and has to take medicine every day, that’s all.” (Oh great so now he is lying to his kids on a daily basis. That is a great way to build a healthy relationship!)

And Dr Buerki shares the view that long term addicts like Jan are actually ill, and need to be treated as such. “These are patients with a chronic, relapsing disease that might go with them for the rest of their lives,” he says. (So basically doc you are just giving up on these people! Thank God, you are not an oncologist! Well you have cancer, you could have it for the rest of your life so I am just going to speed your death along but doing absolutely nothing to help you!)

You may say, Dena who are you to judge these people? Well, while I have never did drugs or alcohol, I have fought my own addictions. One far more deadly than heroin could ever be. But I didn’t give up and I didn’t succumb. Because I had my son I fought back. I didn’t simply lie to my son and continue to do my addiction. I knew if I kept going the way I was I was going to die. But I had people in my 12 step groups to see me through. And now I have two years and four months away from what drove me to those rooms to begin with. So I don’t want to hear about sickness and chronic relapsing. That is a cop out! If I can come out the other end, so can other people. And we are not doing them any favors by giving up on them. It is disgusting that the Swiss care so little about these people that they are willing to facilitate their own destruction.

You got to listen to this garbage by this liberal “health official” and I use that term loosely.

It would be more shocking if we just let them die,” counters Maria Chiara Saraceni, a drugs policy expert with the Swiss federal health department. (And you don’t think giving them heroin is just letting them die? Wow! Are there any synapses firing in your brain Ms. Saraceni?) “It’s the government’s responsibility to help everyone, and not to judge them. (Since when? And how is this helping them?) “If this is what they need to live a more stable life, and to get off the streets, then that is what we should offer.” (Okay so if I was some homeless lunatic who thought killing kittens would help me be more stable, relieve stress whatever, would you supply me with an endless supply of kittens? After all, it is not the government’s place to judge me.)

As long as people continue to look for the easy solution instead of the right solution we are going to continue to go downhill. And when it is all said and done and we have to account for all the damage we have done, who knows how many people liberalism will have killed. I just hope it doesn’t end up costing the life of someone you love.

Democrats Outsourcing their Attack phone calls?

with one comment

you would think, that the party claiming to be for the “MIDDLE CLASS”, would have had AMERICAN “MIDDLE CLASS” making the calls.  The Democrats had other ideas, probably in an effort not to get CAUGHT spreading lies about an opponent.

The calls were out sourced to Romania.  Billings Gazette

The Left brings up the Race card again!!!

with one comment

It just never seems to amaze me, how stupid the MSM and left wing Moonbats really believe the American people are.  Some Americans are naive enough to believe the left and their cries that the Republican party pulls out the race card and continues to bring up the race issue,  but the majority of Americans this election will let the MSM and Liberal race baiters know that they can take their accusations and stuff it.

I have yet to see where the Republicans have started using the race card.  They may have brought up the race issue after Obama supporters, the Obama Campaign, Obama himself and the left wing nuts have falsely accused them.  So if there is an article where Republicans have started first, please let me know and I’ll condemn the individuals if they were truly using race to scare folks.  Until then, why not enjoy a laugh at more “race cards” by the left.

Here is another accusation curtiousy of (By SHAUN MULLEN, TMV Columnist)

The Excrescence Of Right-Wing GOP Hate

The racist and xenophobic bile that has flowed from the right-wing Republican base and spokesmouths like Rush Limbaugh has been unprecedented in this campaign season, and it was easy to predict that the moment Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama that he was no longer a war hero and brilliant diplomat but just another uppity Negro.

If the hate-mongering of these people was not so destructive, the knots into which they tie themselves would be amusing.

They slavishly support an immoral war fostered by Bush and Cheney (and yes, Powell, as well) and for no reason more than their view that it is a well-justified payback against godless Muslims. An American jihad, if you will.

So the race accusations continue to stack up by our fellow American citizens on the left.  Folks the leftwing radicals will stop at nothing to win elections and try to tarnish the Republican party and their supporters.

Bin Laden lost 2004 Election for John Kerry, thanks to an October surprise?

leave a comment »

From the (AP):

October remains the month for political surprises

BOSTON (AP) – Heading into the final weekend of the 2004 presidential campaign, John Kerry was feeling good about his chances of winning the White House.

The Democratic nominee thought he had bested President Bush in their three prime-time debates. He also felt he’d convinced Americans his military and foreign affairs experience left him better equipped to end the Iraqi war.

Then Osama bin Laden weighed in with the most recent “October surprise” to land with a thud on a presidential campaign.

Kerry believes bin Laden cost him the presidency by issuing a videotape that criticized Bush and warned U.S. voters that “your security is in your own hands” in the election. And the Massachusetts senator thinks that’s instructive for both Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain during the final month of their campaign.

From Henry Kissinger’s declaration that “peace is at hand” in Vietnam a month before the 1972 election, to a report just before the 2000 vote that George W. Bush had once been arrested for drunken driving, last-minute sensations have demonstrated the potential to reshape a race.

“It changed the entire dynamic of the last five days,” Kerry said this week of the bin Laden tape. “We saw it in the polling. There was no other intervening event. We saw the polls freeze and then we saw them drop a point, because all the security moms, it agitated people over 9/11.”

Kerry added, “Whenever you’re close to an election, things have more impact, you don’t have time to respond, you don’t have time to change the dynamics backwards.”

That certainly was the concern in 1980, the election year that spawned the term “October surprise.” In a twist of fate, the name grew out of a fear that never was realized.

Republican Ronald Reagan was challenging Democratic incumbent Jimmy Carter in 1980. Precisely a year before Election Day, a group of Islamic radicals had stormed the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran, and seized American hostages.

President Carter worked throughout the campaign to secure their release, including launching an ill-fated rescue mission in April 1980 that killed eight U.S. servicemen. Critics say the Reagan team was so concerned that Carter would gain a boost by winning their release just before the election, that his campaign manager and others negotiated privately with the Iranians to ensure that did not happen.

It didn’t, and Reagan ended up beating Carter. The 52 hostages were released Jan. 20, 1981 – the day the former California governor was inaugurated as president.

At least three books on the subject have the term “October surprise” in their title, although no conspiracy was ever proven.

Even though the month has just begun, the specter of an October surprise has already factored into the 2008 campaign.

Obama’s campaign had to bat down reports that his former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, was going to release a book this month. Obama distanced himself from Wright earlier this year after the preacher, among other things, suggested the U.S. government was capable of planting AIDS in the black community.

McCain’s running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, stopped cooperating with lawmakers investigating her firing of the state’s public safety commissioner after one joked that the findings could amount to an “October surprise” for the vice presidential nominee. Sen. Hollis French, a Democrat, later apologized for the remark.

U.S. intelligence sources, meanwhile, have warned about the potential for another attack by bin Laden and al-Qaida terrorists, seen by some as a potential boost for McCain. The Arizona senator and Vietnam veteran has argued he has stronger national security credentials than his Democratic rival, a freshman senator from Illinois.

The same concern was voiced last spring by Harold Ickes, then an adviser to Obama rival Hillary Rodham Clinton.

In emphasizing the credentials of the New York senator and former first lady, Ickes said: “We don’t know enough about Senator Obama yet. We don’t need an October surprise. And (the chance of) an October surprise with Hillary is remote.”

From Obama’s perspective, an October surprise may have begun a month early: The turmoil in U.S. financial markets that erupted in September triggered criticism of McCain’s leadership and economic understanding, and polls showed Obama starting to open a lead in key battleground states.

That movement could be reversed in the two remaining presidential debates – or by a true October surprise.

Kerry said any surprise deliberately engineered by one of the campaigns would be a risky endeavor.

“I think the media has grown much more suspicious of it because of the recent experiences,” he said, “so I suspect there’ll be a lot of scrutiny and maybe even some backlash.”

Typical Liberal Attacks on Conservatives!!

with 18 comments

I find it so fun how the left has NO problem bashing, mocking and making fun of folks who are conservatives.  Yet if they are offended in anyway, then the sky is going to come falling down.  I mean I love reading titles and as soon as you’re done reading them, you know exactly what to expect.  Here are two from our local newspaper in Lancaster, PA “The fearful world of conservatives” and “A liberal idea of patriotism“.  Now if you can’t come up with an idea of what to expect from those titles then you are most likely out of the political loop.

Well sometimes I get so sick and tired of hearing the same arguments and complaints time after time, that I end up deciding to voice my little opinion.  After reading the title (A liberal idea of patriotism) by Gil Smart in the Lancaster Sunday News over the July 4th weekend I knew I’d be in for some interesting reading.  I read Mr. Smarts column, mainly to get a kick out of the continuous talking points he continues to spew out from the Liberal MSM.  I wouldn’t be surprised if Mr. Smart doesn’t visit the TalkingPointsMemo website daily!!  I mean his statements throughout a majority of his columns; look like he read from some official Liberal Talking Points Manuel.

First he tries bashing Glenn Beck by only picking the part of the quote he desired, by printing: “Heck, conservative yakker Glenn Beck last month said rather than let the Supreme Court permit terrorist suspects (key word) to go free, we should just shoot them all.”  Well to start off with here is the FULL quote to which Mr. Smart decided to cherry pick from:

(GLENN: Joe, I’m saying this in jest but it really is that, isn’t it? I mean, it’s really; it’s going down that road, isn’t it? Holy cow, Joe just said this decision is frightening when you read the language. This court has done some frightening, frightening. With Guantanamo, gang, I got news for you. We’re in deep trouble with Guantanamo.  We can’t do this; we’re going to give these guys access to our courts? Let me say something. If I were President of the United States, I would go on national television and say, ladies and gentlemen of America, the Supreme Court said that we don’t have Guantanamo, so that is over, we’re going to release all of them but I want you to know from here on out our policy is to not have prisoners. We’re going to shoot them all in the head. If we think that they are against us, we’re going to shoot them and kill them, period.  Because that’s the only thing we’ve got going for us is we can put them away and get information.

See now to the average reader, who Mr. Smart assumes won’t double check his MSM mentality, and liberal biased attacks, that would make you thing Glenn Beck is a horrible individual.  But on to the contrary, Mr. Beck does plenty of positive things and gives you information that the Main Stream Media won’t.

Then Mr. Smart seems to think we should not go spreading Americas (Ideals) around the world.  Oh so then we should just forget trying to help other countries out?  Yeah that’s a great idea; we just keep to ourselves and not bother other countries with the Ideals that work here in the U.S.  We’ll just let them suffer and who cares what happens to them right?  It’s not our problem just let all the countries go crying to China, Russia, and all those other great countries that will have their best interests in mind.

Let’s see, does anyone know why those 2 countries or any other countries would gladly step in our place to help out those struggling and/or dictated countries?  Well I’ll try and take a stab at the most possible and logical answer(s).  Could it be that any country that doesn’t want to see the U.S. help other struggling countries, know darn well that if things came down to push and shove, those struggling countries will remember who extended a helping hand, and who wants to see their economies and countries prosper just as much as we want to see our own country prosper.  Or in the case of war, (OH WAIT, SORRY FOLKS I AM USING THE TYPICAL RIGHT WING SCARE TACTIC) who do you believe those newly prospering countries will assist first?  I have a guess; they will return the favors, and assistance that was given to them by any country other than the U.S., because we should not put our nose where it doesn’t belong according to those lovely leftist liberals.

Oh and then Mr. Smart for the 2nd week in a row, tells us that we should in essence go back to our Sept. 10th 2001 mind sets that (It Won’t Happen to us!)  He says that conservatives think we should go around and bully everyone, “But conservatives will tell you we have no choice but to wage the grand crusade, because the terrorists threaten our very existence.” So does this mean Conservatives are wrong for wanting to protect our country from those, who as Mr. Smart mentioned “threaten our very existence”?  Sounds like it to me, but trust me his statements of which he can freely speak and express, show how naive folks can be.  “And see, liberals reject that. The terrorists aren’t going to destroy us — and in any case, you don’t defend American ideals by undermining them. America is better than that, stronger than that — or has been. And must be, again.” I’d like to hear him say that to those families who lost loved ones on 9/11, let’s hear you tell them that was a once and done attack and your loved ones were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.  That is just about what I take from a statement like that.  (OPPS SORRY FOLKS THERE I GO AGAIN USING A TYPICAL RIGHT WING SCARE TACTIC)  I apologize and will try to work on that flaw of mine. LOL

Well folks I just like to let the liberal loving media out there know that just because they think we are dumb and should listen to their talking points, doesn’t mean we are or that we will.  I hope my input can be of some help to even just one person.

God Bless you and our Country,
