Christianity- The New Black

Christianity- The New Black

Recently, we have witnessed great victories by members of some traditionally discriminated groups. In our latest Presidential election, we had one side, a black candidate for President, and on the other side, a woman candidate for Vice-President. What a victory for both groups, but there still is one group suffering discrimination in this country, everyday, and you need not go any further then your neighborhood public school or your local big box home improvement warehouse to witness it. That group is Christians.

It was Christmas, 2007, when the group that I had founded, Americans for Putting America 1st, had embarked on a project that was designed to bring a little bit of joy to our wounded veterans, infirmed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. From September of that year, until the 2nd week of December, I had headed a nationwide gift drive, in which myself, and a small group of other patriots would personally deliver the gifts to the hospital, one room at a time. I had enlisted the help of one of the office administrators at my children’s elementary school, who was excited to collect gifts from the staff at the school, as well as at her church. We had decided that it would be awesome if the school children could participate, as well, and the Assistant Principal had given the go ahead for the children to create cards in Art class, on one condition; that there be no mention of Christmas in the artwork. Leave it to public education to take Christ out of Christmas.

Christmas Eve Tragedy in CA.

Nine Dead in Los Angeles ‘Santa’ Massacre

COVINA, Calif. —  The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office says eight bodies have been found in the rubble of a home set ablaze after a Christmas Eve shooting massacre.

Investigators ended their search Thursday night for other possible victims of the rampage. Authorities planned to return to the scene Friday.

Police say the only suspect in the shooting and fire killed himself several hours later.

Bruce Pardo set the home ablaze using a bizarre homemade device that sprayed flammable liquid. Stinging from an acrimonious divorce, Pardo, plotting revenge against his ex-wife, dressed up like Santa, went to his former in-laws’ Christmas Eve party and slaughtered the victims before killing himself hours later.

Pardo, 45, had no criminal record and no history of violence, according to police, but he was angry following last week’s settlement of his divorce after a marriage that lasted barely a year.

“It was not an amicable divorce,” police Lt. Pat Buchanan said.

The massacre began when an 8-year-old girl answered Pardo’s knock at the door. Pardo, carrying what appeared to be a large present, pulled out a handgun and shot her in the face, then began shooting indiscriminately as about 25 partygoers tried to flee, police said.

A 16-year-old girl was shot in the back, and a 20-year-old woman broke her ankle when she escaped by jumping from a second-story window. Those two, and the 8-year-old, remained hospitalized Christmas Day.

The gift-wrapped box Pardo was carrying actually contained a pressurized homemade device he used to spray a liquid that quickly sent the house up in flames, police said.

When the fire was extinguished early Thursday, officers found three charred bodies in the living room area.

“They were met with a scene that was just indescribable,” police Chief Kim Raney said. Investigators found three more bodies amid the ashes later in the day.

None of the dead or missing have been identified.

Following the shootings, Pardo quickly got out of the Santa suit and drove off, witnesses told police. He went to his brother’s home about 25 miles away in the Sylmar area of Los Angeles. No one was home, so Pardo let himself in, police said.

Police were called to the home early Thursday, and officers found Pardo dead of a single bullet to the head.

Merry Christmas

Birth Of Jesus

Birth Of Jesus

The Birth Of Jesus:

Luke 2: 1-20

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

1In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2(This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3And everyone went to his own town to register.

4So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.

The Shepherds and the Angels

8And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ[a] the Lord. 12This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14“Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

15When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

Christmas Displays Vandalized, and Pastor Assaulted!

Dozens of Christmas Displays Vandalized, Pastor Assaulted, Reports Christian Group

Nearly 30 acts of vandalism against Nativity scenes or Christmas displays and at least one case of physical assault against a Christian pastor have occurred over the last few weeks, according to the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, which tracks many such incidents every holiday season.

“When you see all these examples” of vandalism and assault, “it is shocking,” said Susan Fani, communications director for the Catholic League, a conservative civil rights organization. “And we’re saying, ‘Take a look at this – this shows an animus against Christianity.’”

In Sandusky, Ohio, a 50-year-old figure of the Baby Jesus was stolen from a Washington Park display and later found hanging from a ceiling fan at the alleged thief’s apartment on Dec. 12.

In Waggaman, La., a 38-year-old man and two teenagers were arrested for vandalizing Christmas lawn displays at five different homes, the Jefferson Parish sheriff’s office announced on Dec. 18.

A 50-year-old statue of a shepherd was decapitated at a Nativity center in downtown Kingsport, Tenn., on Dec. 18.

A Nativity scene outside a Christian church in Christoval, Tex., was splattered with red paint, reported the Catholic League, and in Riverside, Calif., a pastor was brutally beaten and robbed behind his church as he went to a supply room to get a Christmas bulb.

According to The Press Enterprise, 49-year-old Pastor James Dennis Warman was struck repeatedly in the head by two assailants on Dec. 7. He is now in a medically induced coma and not able to speak, and he may have brain damage, according to his wife, Mendy Warman.

Susan Fani told that that Catholic League recorded at least 40 cases of vandalism (and related violence) against Christmas displays in 2007. It recorded 28 cases in 2006, 58 in 2005 and 16 in 2004.  Fani noted, however, that the group, given its resources, cannot keep track of every act of anti-Christmas violence nationwide.

“What we’re trying to do is just shed light on what is going on out there because there is a war on Christmas, and one of the fronts is the vandalism,” said Fani.  “And for those who deny there’s a war on Christmas – well, when you have attacks on ministers and taking a Baby Jesus statue and hanging it from a ceiling fan, this shows a really dangerous animus. That concerns us much more than the pranks.”

However, Annie Laurie Gaylor, co-president of the Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF), said that the “war on Christmas” claim is not very original and that Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, is “full of hot air.”

“It’s just a PR game for them to do this kind of thing this time of year,” Gaylor told  “They (Christians) are the least oppressed religion in the country, let me tell you. They try to call the shots, and they dictate terms to our government, and they have (President) Bush kow-towing to them and he’s not even a Catholic. That was the only reason he vetoed stem cell research.”

The FFRF, according to its Web site, “is the largest association of freethinkers (atheists and agnostics) in the United States.”

Gaylor said that the FFRF has erected numerous displays on public property that have been vandalized. Some of the group’s signs discuss the “Winter Solstice” or say “Imagine No Religion.”

“Our sign at the Wisconsin state capital in the past has been stolen, it had acid poured on it,” said Gaylor. “When we’ve tried to do so-called public forums in parks at this time of year and put up our own banners, we’ve had them painted over, stolen and set on fire. So, there is no such thing as a public forum for religion on government property in December because the majority of religion always ends up winning. … When we try to put up our signs, we are muffled — crimes all over the place.”

It is Christians who “are doing the persecuting” by trying to keep religion in the public square, said Gaylor. “But if they can say they are being persecuted, it’s good for their religion.”

Christmas Manger with Two Josephs!!!

with 2 comments

Well over in the Netherlands a Gay Group has organized a manger scene that has 2 Josephs.  I’m glad I don’t have to explain that to my daughter.

Gay Group Organizes Christmas Festival Featuring Manger with Two Josephs

Gay Group Organizes ‘Pink Christmas’ in Amsterdam

AMSTERDAM, Netherlands – A Dutch gay group has organized a “Pink Christmas” festival for the first time in Amsterdam, featuring a manger stall with two Josephs and two Marys.

Other attractions in the 10-day festival include parties, an open-air market, gay-themed films, an ice skating rink and religious services on Dec. 25.

ProGay group chairman Frank van Dalen says the event is intended to increase the range of options for homosexual men and women during the Christmas holiday week.

He said Monday the festival would also encourage people to think about homosexuality and religion.

Some Christian groups have protested. The organization Christians for Truth says the idea “mocks the core concepts of Evangelism.”

Obama has $30 Million Surplus but Still Asks Donors for Help??

with one comment

Okay I must be missing something here.  I mean Obama has a $30 Million surplus from his campaign donations and is trying to decide what to do with the money.

Obama Campaign Mulls what to do with $30M Surplus

Obama’s organization retains some $30 million after his successful presidential bid, but it’s unclear how the Democratic president-in-waiting might use the money.  Members of his party are doing their best to appeal for the funds without appearing greedy, ungrateful or hostile to their new leader.

Article continues here:

But yet Obama is asking his 3 Million Donors to help pay Senator Clinton’s debt?  Her debt is listed at $7.5M, which is only a 1/4 of Obama’s surplus.  So instead of helping his soon to be Secretary of State pay off her debt (which will restrict her fundraising abilities when appointed) he decides to try and put the burden of the debt on his donors shoulders.

Obama’s 3 Million Donors Asked to Pay Clinton Debt

President-elect Barack Obama’s vast list of donors is being asked to donate to Hillary Rodham Clinton as she scrambles to reduce her massive campaign debt before she becomes secretary of state and federal ethics rules limit her fundraising, an Obama adviser said Thursday night.

I mean this is absurd to say the least.  This is the man who has been saying we are in such horrible times, that the Bush Administration has done nothing but hurt the everyday American and their pocketbooks.  We should add to the fact that it is Christmas time, plus we have been seeing job losses at unfortunate rates.

So this man has some guts to ask even 1 donor to help Sen. Clinton with the surplus he has left over.  Obama could also encourage Clinton to try and see how she can tap into her Senate Re-Election account which has $6M still in it.

Folks this is just ridiculous, and I plead with all the Obama Kool Aid drinkers out there, please KEEP YOUR MONEY and make them find another way to get rid of the debt.  You work hard for your money and shouldn’t be asked to pay of someone elses’s debt.  Can you imagine what would happen if WE EVERYDAY AMERICANS tried to throw a fundraiser to pay off our debt?  Besides having people laugh at you for even asking, those who would donate or give you help would 9 times of out 10 EXPECT SOMETHING in return.
